Port of Iryna
The Port of Iryna is Iryna's sole seaport, located in the Oceanview district. It consists of 18 major piers which serve as economic hubs and cultural landmarks in the city. The landmass of Iryna has a natural bay on its southwestern coast, which has been used since the island's earliest settlement as a safe harbor for ships of all kinds. In modern times, the Port of Iryna has become a major center for both commercial and recreational activity. Each pier has acquired its own reputation, with some seen as crowded tourist traps, some as industrious shipping hubs, and others as quieter areas for relaxation. Piers are numbered, with Pier 1 being the northernmost and Pier 18 being the southernmost. Some notable piers include:
- Pier 8 is the largest pier in the Port of Iryna, connected directly to Oceanview Avenue, one of Iryna's major streets. The main pier structure is wide enough for multi-story buildings on either side of it, with smaller marinas branching off the pier itself. Pier 8 is a must-see tourist destiantion, with some of Iryna's most overpriced souvenirs and seafood.
- Pier 17 has been deliberately maintained as a public promenade, without any docks or storefronts to obscure the view. The port, the ocean, and part of Iryna's skyline can be observed from the pier. Benches line the pier's edges. Far from the densely-populated center of Oceanview, and without any excitement to attract rowdy tourists, the pier is surprisingly quiet at night.
- Pier 18 is the last pier in the Port, and caters to a very specific economic niche. Unlike the other piers, its entrance is blocked by security guards, who prevent minors from accessing the adult-oriented businesses along its length. The thumping music and neon lights of its bars, clubs, and performance venues can be seen and heard from across the bay.
