Honestly, I don't know! Someday I would love to incorporate the lore I've created into a graphic novel or other visual narrative project to make it available for a wider audience. In its current form, it's solely a labor of love for my own enjoyment. I created this wiki as an archive of my efforts, for myself and for anyone else who may find it interesting. The city's history, as it exists in this wiki, ends at the beginning of 1021 - any future developments might become a spoiler for upcoming narrative projects set in Iryna.

Iryna was first envisioned in 2019 as the setting of a graphic novel about an orphaned merfolk girl pitted against a sinister elven politician. Although that graphic novel never found success, the idea of an island-bound metropolis remained appealing to me. In 2020, the TTRPG campaign I had been running came to a close, and when it was time to create a new campaign, I decided to set it on the island of Iryna. By the time the Iryna campaign finished in 2021, I had fallen in love with the city and its inhabitants.
