Evridiki is the fourth-largest island in the Corvidan Archipelago, approximately 22 chases by 18 chases at its widest points. It is situated closest to the island of Oxana; however, despite their proximity, Evridiki remains culturally isolated from Oxana and the other islands of the Archipelago. This is due to a number of factors, but most prominently due to high concentrations of chaos within and surrounding Evridiki. These chaotic zones are difficult and often dangerous to navigate, so inexperienced travelers from other islands avoid entering Evridikan waters when possible. Sailors from Evridiki, and residents of the island in general, are known to be particularly adept at identifying the illusory mirages that chaos often generates, as well as sensing areas that are too volatile to interact with. On the island itself, mirages manifest most commonly as small floating lights or magpies flitting around tree trunks. Following these mirages is highly inadvisable.
Evridiki is also the most rainforested of all the Corvidan islands. Residents of more urbanized islands often stereotype Evridiki as an untamed wilderness, but Evridiki is no less developed than any of its neighbors. The people of Evridiki practice a unique form of agroforestry, maintaining their land using sustainable methods and cultivating a diverse variety of crops. Their yield surplus is such that Evridiki is a primary exporter of agricultural goods to Oxana, Iryna, and even further afield. The density of its rainforests has discouraged Evridikans from building centralized cities, instead spreading their population out across smaller, evenly-spaced settlements within the rainforest. Each settlement is run by a community council, which periodically convene together to form the Evridiki Council. Buildings in Evridiki are generally built from wood or bamboo, and are elevated onto platforms that allow animals or floodwaters to pass safely underneath. Each settlement also has a lookout tower, its platform extending all the way above the treeline. Using these lookout towers, settlements can easily and quickly communicate using semaphore, without having to laboriously traverse the rainforest on foot. These platforms and communication systems inspired the construction of Iryna's upper level and, later, the network design of the IrynaNet.
