The Iryna Wiki
The Iryna Wiki is a "canon wiki" (as opposed to a fan wiki) containing information on a personal worldbuilding project centered around the city of Iryna. It documents Iryna's history,
its important figures, and its place in the wider world of the Aequor Arcanus. Unless otherwise stated, all of this wiki's content pertains to the city as it existed on New Year's Day, 1021.
Any knowledge within this wiki would be available to the average Irynian through publically-accessible sources; confidential information or personal secrets cannot be found here.
Why Does This Wiki Exist?
After the Iryna campaign was over, I felt reluctant to leave behind that world, but I was unsure how to continue its story. I decided to develop its worldbuilding further, and I created a wiki to consolidate that information. The wiki's scope quickly ballooned, and it turned into a creative endeavor in its own right. At the present moment, this wiki is the culmination of the Iryna project. The writing in this wiki is in a nonfictional style, but it tells the story of Iryna and its inhabitants better than a traditional narrative could.
How Did This Project Start?
Iryna was first envisioned in 2019 as the setting of a graphic novel about an orphaned merfolk girl pitted against a sinister elven politician. Although that graphic novel never found success, the idea of an island-bound metropolis remained appealing to me. In 2020, the TTRPG campaign I had been running came to a close, and when it was time to create a new campaign, I decided to set it on the island of Iryna. By the time the Iryna campaign finished in 2021, I had fallen in love with the city and its inhabitants.
